The Stock the Box Project is underway to raise funds to stock Shelter Boxes for those unfortunate families who have lost their home and possessions due to war, natural disasters, and other destructive events. The Shelter Boxes are amazing products that provide a tent large enough for a family to shelter in, tools to use, cooking implements, lanterns, water purifier and other necessities of every day life. Each box costs $1,000 which includes the product in its entirety, shipping and assembling on site. Rotarians provide the assembly!!! (See the Club Foundation Projects page on this site for more complete information re: the international Shelter Box program)
The Stock the Box Project is being held throughout the United States. Ron LaDucer, a RCOTV member is a National Shelter Box ambassador and he and wife, Jean Hanaman, kicked off the event on July 1st with committee members in the club volunteering to help.
Nationally, within the month of July, $63,144 has been raised. This is 63% of the National goal of $100,000.
The RCOTV original goal on July 1 was $2,000. It has been so successful that the team has raised it's goal to $6,000. With 24 days remaining in the campaign, the club has just $395 more to raise as of this writing on Aug 7th.
In addition to the donations collected during this special "drive, the club raised additional funds, culminating in a current total of $10,355!
